Chakka kuru Mezhukkupuratti/Jackfruit Seeds Stir Fry

 

Chakka kuru Mezhukkupuratti

 

 

 

Ingredients

  1. Jackfruit seeds - Around 20
  2. Pearl onion - 10 - 12
  3. Whole pepper corns - 10 - 12
  4. Whole dry red chilli - 1-2 ( You could also add 1/2 - 3/4 tsp chilli flakes)
  5. Curry leaves - 1 sprig
  6. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  7. Salt - To taste
  8. Coconut oil - As required

Method

1. Remove the outer skin of the jack fruit seeds and scrape off the brown inner skin. Rinse, cut them lengthwise and cook covered with turmeric powder, water(around 1/2 cup) and salt.

2. Crush the pearl onion,  whole pepper corns and dry red chillies.

3. In a pan add the crushed mixture and curry leaves. Saute for a few minutes and add the cooked jackfruit seeds and stirfry until they turn crisp, adding more oil if required. Serve with rice.

  9. After seeing all this dishes, which i use to eat at my home i starts missing my mom... This is my father's favorite recipe.... but my mom use to cook in a different way.. yours also looking same to me but masala is different... very tasty and healthy diah:-)

  11. I have never tried this seed with any masala. I just love to have it as a snack by steaming it . But this sounds yummy ... I will make it soon

  20. helo yummy team where did u get this chakkakkuru.i haven't find it anywhere.indian shop once i bought the frozen one.but taste was not good.
    looks so delicious yarr.pls parcel some chakkakuru.anyway this weekend i am going to buy the frozen one.

  24. I love this .. but what I do is slightly variated ..looks mouthwatering.. my fav one . I can eat the seed itself without adding masala..MY very fav one .Surely I am gonna this way next time.
